East End Birth Network, Inc. is proud to announce our new initiative, Stork Co-op. Stork Co-op receives and distributes new and like new pregnancy, baby, and postpartum clothing, gear & care items on the East End of Long Island.

Stork Co-op distributes to communities in need on the East End (townships of Riverhead, Southold, Shelter Island, Southampton, and East Hampton).

The Stork Co-op is proud to be partnering with Suffolk County’s Smart Start Suffolk Initiative and the NYS Council on Children and Families and offering their Baby Bundle to East End Residents. 

Items Distributed May Include:

New & Like New:

  • Maternity & Nursing Clothes
  • Maternity Gear (i.e. belly bands, body pillows)
  • Postpartum Care Items
  • Bassinets & Pack n’ Plays
  • Bounce seats/play mats
  • Strollers
  • High Chairs/Baby feeding items
  • Infant Carriers (i.e. wraps, slings)
  • Infant & baby clothes (for up to one year)
  • Winter jackets (up to one year)
  • Crib bedding & blankets
  • Breastfeeding/Nursing items (i.e. pillows, breast pads, pumps)
  • Bottles & Formula
  • Baby Care items (i.e. diaper cream, soap, lotion, tubs)
  • Unused Diapers/Wipes
  • Suffolk County Smart Start Baby Bundle

The Baby Bundle includes: 

Each Baby Bundle will be provided to new parents (birth, adoption, foster) in a reusable “Talking is Teaching” tote bag with messages that encourage parents to talk, read and sing with their children, and will include the following books, brochures and helpful resources for families:

  • “Starting Life Together: the New York State Parent Guide” – information and resources on children’s growth and development in the early years
  • “What to Do When Your Child Gets Sick” – Book
  • Children’s board book for parents to read with their child
  • “Can Your Baby Hear You” (early hearing screening) from the New York State Department of Health and “Follow the ABCs of Safe Sleep”
  •  information about the New York State Parent Portal – how to find child care, navigate multiple systems and local resources http://www.nysparenting.org
  • “Family Guide to New York State Early Childhood Services – Prenatal Through Age 5” with information on child care, -Head Start, home visiting, Early Intervention, prekindergarten, preschool special education and parent support
  • Plus much more helpful information.
